Your Impact

The pace of change in Idaho continues to accelerate. That’s why, as Idaho’s land-grant research university, we’re devoted to enhancing the scientific, economic, social, legal, and cultural assets of our region and developing new solutions to complex problems.

Our mission is to shape the future of our state.Β To do that, we need you.Β Your support with a gift in your will, trust, or in some other way will sustain U of I and further our mission for generations to come. You can be a powerful force for U of I, driving us to:

Student Success

β€œI am able to study what I love at a place I love, to dream big without the worry of financial limitations.”
When you’re a National Merit Scholar, you can go to college just about anywhere, but the University of Idaho stood out to Montana native Sam Fulbright. U of I provided supplemental scholarship support, but more than that, it offered a community, an exceptional natural resources program and the opportunity to study overseas.
By choosing U of I, Sam is exploring the world and learning to think critically about managing the lands he grew up on – beautiful lands that are unique to the Northwest.

Sustainable Solutions for Idaho

β€œIt’s kind of like an immunization shot for honeybee larvae.”

Anyone who eats food is impacted by the health of bees. Student Keera Paull and College of Agricultural and Life Sciences professor JT Van Leuven are exploring innovative solutions to kill the microbes that destroy honeybee colonies. Their research may lead to better and more sustainable methods for protecting the pollinators that keep our crops growing and food supply flourishing.

You Power a Thriving Idaho

“There is such a demand for rural physicians and preventative care here in Idaho.”

WWAMI medical student Bryan Jones knows this first-hand. He’s from Malad, Idaho (population 1,945) and worked as a critical care nurse in Blackfoot, Idaho (population 11,936). Driven by a desire to better inform his patients about healthcare decisions, Bryan – and his family of six – decided he would pursue his M.D.

When he graduates in 2024, Bryan is motivated to return to rural Idaho and practice emergency medicine where he is sure to have a big impact and help his community thrive.
